How are Lithium-ion battery cells priced?
Unlike other products, such as a motorcycle where you buy them by the piece, LIB cells are priced by the amount of energy they can store. Therefore, we order LIB cells in Kilowatt hours or Gigawatt hours of energy storage capacity.
What other components might I need to consider?
In addition to the cells themselves, other components of a LIB solution include the module, which connects the cells together. The Battery Management System (BMS) is the “brains” of battery and regulates/monitors the cells as a unit. Finally, a battery pack is created to fit into a customer specified enclosure.
C4V’s pricing advantage?
Our P Series chemistry does not contain any Cobalt or Nickel. While that significantly increases our user safety ratings, it also removes 2 of the most expensive components of the materials list. Couple that with our manufacturing process trade secrets and know how and you get a winning combination of attractive price points and battery performance.
